MEDIA RELATIONS
Welcome to the 2010 Dodge Rodeo Tour. This Multi Rodeo Tour is traveling across Ontario. The tour winds it's way through Central and Southern  Ontario locations throughout the summer and comes to a bone jarring September conclusion at the Dodge Rodeo Tour Championships. More than 200 cowboys and cowgirls from across Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and the United States are eligible to seek the 2010 Championship Buckles and more than $250,000.00 in cash and prizes. The Dodge Rodeo Tour has become a main attraction with crowds up to 10,000 fans watching competitors face the distinct challenges, dangers and thrills of each of the seven traditional rodeo events: Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Bareback Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Calf Roping and Barrel Racing; and the Dodge Rodeo Tour additional events of Ladies Breakaway roping, Junior Barrel Racing and Junior Steer Riding.

The Rodeo site can be a hectic location with contestants preparing for dangerous competition while staff works hard to ensure each event runs smoothly and safely. It can be overwhelming trying to find the people you need to interview or photograph around the busy grounds or behind the scenes in the traveling tent and trailer community that pops up at each location. The Rodeo Management Group, who manages and executes the Dodge Rodeo Tour, has produced this guide to make your visit to the tour easier and more beneficial to the work you are doing. There is a wealth of stories to be found at each Rodeo from local competitors to the Bulls and Broncs who challenge them. We hope that this guide will assist you in finding the stories, photographs and information that you need.
OBTAINING INTERVIEWS
At most Rodeo Sites, there are competitors from local coverage areas. Media representatives wishing interviews with local competitors are advised to contact Greg O'Brien prior to the Rodeo Weekend and arrangements can be made for an interview to take place. Competitors are not always on site for both days of the Rodeo. There is however, a wealth of interview possibilities beyond local competitors and the Rodeo Management Group is happy to assist you in finding stories and interviews of interest to your audiences. The nature of Rodeo life and the work involved can make it difficult to locate staff and competitors or to know when they are accessible. Greg is available at every site to offer assistance and to direct media representatives to the people and information for which they are looking. Contact with Greg prior to the Rodeo weekends will assist in ensuring all media have access to everyone they need.
OBTAINING RESULTS

PHOTOGRAPHY
There is a wealth of photographic opportunities at the Rodeo site. Photographers and videographers, as well as reporters, have access to most areas for the purpose of capturing memorable images. While much of the action occurs inside the arena, competitors are often practicing or warming up around the chutes or behind the scenes. Many Rodeo committees also provide additional activities surrounding the Rodeo, which may provide other photographic and reporting opportunities. Generally speaking, you should feel welcome to explore. Action takes place from both ends of the arena and there is the freedom to move around because the best vantage points will change with each event. The unpredictable nature of the sport can be challenging for photographers. It is reccomended that you touch base with either of the Dodge Rodeo Tour's official photographers (Norm Betts or Shawn Turner) before each event.Norm and Shawn being the best people on site to discuss vantage points for your purposes. It also strongly suggested that you contact the committee hosting the rodeo that you would like to attend before showing up. Each committee along the Tour has it's own opinions and policies regarding photography. You can find out how to contact a committee by heading to the "Online Arena" page and then linking to the apropraite website.
