2008 DODGE RODEO SEASON - SET TO KICK OFF!
ROSS MILLAR (PRESIDENT - RODEO MANAGEMENT GROUP)
It is with great pride and excitement that we enter the 2008 season for the Dodge Rodeo Tour. The Dodge Tour was created 11 years ago to showcase the Historical Sport of Rodeo while raising needed funds for community projects. Clearly the Dodge Tour has accomplished both. The dedication and commitment from the Cowboys/Girls along with the Community Committee members has positioned the Dodge Rodeo Tour as the Premier tour in Eastern Canada.

The sport of Rodeo has been an Ontario tradition for more than 50 years . Now in its 11th season, it has become a tradition in Ontario Rodeo. Like interest in the sport, the Dodge Tour is continuing to grow at a rapid rate. The Dodge Rodeo Tour was formed in an effort to give more to the cowboys and cowgirls through competition and increased cash prizes. Secondly, this tour works to provide the fan with an experience second to none in the Ontario market. With more cowboys and cowgirls than ever before, the Dodge Rodeo Tour provides a first rate chance to compete within the Canadian Cowboy's Association for championship buckles, prizes and cash. Several hundred cowboys and cowgirls travel from across Eastern North America to compete at Dodge Rodeo Tour Events. Competitors earn points at each Dodge Rodeo Tour designated event, working towards the Championship round in Mississauga where the top seven competitors of each event compete to be number one. Points earned at all Dodge Rodeo Tour events also count towards totals generated at other Canadian Cowboy Association sanctioned events in efforts to earn a spot at the CCA Finals.

The tour winds its way through Southern Ontario locations throughout the summer and comes to a bone-jarring September conclusion at the Mississauga Hershey Centre - home of the Dodge Rodeo Tour Championships. Each Rodeo weekend can attract crowds from between 5000 to 10,000 fans who watch as competitors face the distinct challenges, dangers and thrills of each of the seven traditional CCA Rodeo Events. The 2008 season kicks off as an expected 200 Cowboys and Cowgirls start the chase for over $250,000.00 in prize monies. The year finishes at the Mississauga Hershey Center which has become the home for the Championship Weekend that showcases the Top Cowboys/Girls in each event.

I want to also thank the Sponsors that have supported us throughout the years. The sponsors involved have all exhibited the dedication and enthusiasm that is truly the Cowboy spirit making the Tour the success it is. I hope to see many this summer and invite you to come and enjoy the Oldest Extreme Sport of North America Rodeo.

See You on the Trail
